Lightspeed Retail Integration - How To Use

BRM and Lightspeed R (Online) can seamlessly communicate with each other, enabling you to do some really powerful things. For example, you can initiate a retail sale, add a rental, and then complete the entire transaction within Lightspeed R.

By processing all your rentals through Lightspeed, you only need to reconcile in one place—giving you the full benefits of BRM for managing your rentals, while simplifying your workflow.

In summary, you’ll have two systems running in separate browser tabs:

• Lightspeed R: Handles your retail transactions, including rentals.
• BRM / RSM: Manages your rentals, including making and tracking reservations throughout their lifecycle.
  
  

The integration between the two systems ensures seamless communication, passing messages between them whenever necessary to keep everything in sync.

There are two main types of integration with Lightspeed R:

1. Lightspeed R → BRM:
   Start your process in Lightspeed R, create a rental using the BRM button, and then return to Lightspeed R to complete the transaction.

2. BRM → Lightspeed R:
   If you're already managing a rental in BRM, you can then process a payment through Lightspeed R.

We recommend starting rentals within Lightspeed R whenever possible.

This approach allows you to optionally bring customer data from Lightspeed R into BRM in real time. When the payment is completed in Lightspeed R, BRM will automatically listen for the transaction and update itself accordingly.

Please note: The integration is compatible only with Lightspeed Retail (Online, Cloud) and does not work with Lightspeed On-site or the iOS iPad app version.
