You will want to add product images to create a rich online experience for your renters.
You add them at two levels:
category
product family
In that way they will appear in the right place online:

Category Image
Inventory > Add / Manage > Edit Category:
Product Family Image
Inventory > Add / Manage > Edit Product Family:
