Initial Setup
To begin using Lightspeed X with BRM you can connect your Lightspeed account by navigating to Settings > Integrations > Lightspeed X.
This will redirect you to the external page at Lightspeed Retail (X Series).
Once you successfully connect, you will be taken to Part 2: Configuration.
Configuration on Lightspeed
In this step, you'll need to set up a product and a register:
- Products: The rental item you create must have infinite inventory to ensure availability.
- Register: Set up your register and specify the tax rate you will charge (this will be tax-exclusive, meaning the tax is added on top of the rental price).
Make sure to fill in the necessary fields on BRM, as this product will be transferred to Lightspeed X (LSX) during transactions.
Booking and Payments
To process a booking:
- Create a new booking in BRM.
- Open the transaction tab of the booking and select LSX.
3. Click Transfer to Lightspeed X; a new tab will open.
4. Proceed to pay.
Once completed, the reservation should update to the relevant stage, including a record of the transaction.
Parking a Sale for Updated Reservation Info
If you need to update a reservation in BRM (e.g., changes to duration, customer, item, or price), you must park the sale on LSX. After updating the reservation in BRM, transfer it again to LSX to ensure the order reflects the updated information.
Importing Customers
To import customer information:
- Create a new customer in BRM.
- Click Import from Lightspeed X.
3. Enter the LSX Customer Code.
The customer information should fill automatically.
Updating LSX Customers
To update an existing customer linked to an LSX Customer ID:
- Open the customer record in BRM.
- Update the relevant information as needed.
- Save the customer record.
The updated information should sync to LSX.
