You can see this when editing a task too, not just when creating one.If another message appeared with it, that one gives the reason. Otherwise check your internet connection and try again. If it keeps happening, contact support.

When scanning (hands-free mode)

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
No item found with ID '…'No item matches the barcode or ID you scanned.Check the label, or search for the item by hand.
Multiple items foundMore than one item matches what you scanned.Open the item by hand. Then check your items don't share the same ID or barcode.
Invalid page to input a taskYou scanned a task barcode (one starting with a full stop) while you weren't on an item's page.Scan the item first. That opens its page. Then scan the task.
Service entry with ID '…' not foundNo maintenance task has that barcode. Very occasionally, BRM couldn't load your task list.Check the barcode in Settings → Maintenance → Maintenance Tasks. Letters don't need to match in capitals or lower case. If the task is there, refresh the page and scan again.
