With Waivers 2.0, riders sign your waiver on a page on bikerez.com, on their own phone, before they arrive. This article walks through what they see, so you can help a rider who gets stuck.
Opening the waiver
Riders reach the same page from any of these:
- Click here to sign waiver in the booking email.
- Sign My Waiver on the booking confirmation page, straight after booking online.
- A link the lead booker shared with the group.
- Sign the waiver in a reminder email you sent from the reservation.
- The QR code you show from the reservation's Waivers tab.
The page shows the booking reference and your store's name, and Needed before pickup with the pickup date and time.
Choosing who's signing
A booking with more than one rider says Each rider needs to sign a waiver, with a count such as 1 of 3 riders signed.
Under Who's signing? each rider on the booking is listed by first name and last initial. If your booking page didn't ask for their name, the row shows the item they're riding, or Rider 2, Rider 3 and so on.
- Sign now opens the waiver for that rider.
- Signed rows are greyed out.
- I'm not on this list lets someone add themselves, when the booking has room for more riders. They enter their First name, Last name and Email. The email is optional for a parent or guardian signing for a child.
Reading and accepting
- Your terms and conditions and your waiver are shown together under Terms and waiver.
- The rider scrolls to the end. Until they do, the tick boxes stay greyed out and the page says Scroll to the end to accept.
- They tick I accept the terms and conditions (if you have terms) and I have read and accept the waiver.
- They tick any extra checkboxes you've added. Every box is required.
Who is signing: adults and children
The rider then says who is signing:
- I'm [name] and I'm 18 or over, for an adult signing for themselves.
- I'm signing as their parent or guardian, for a child. The guardian types their full name, and it's recorded with the signature.
The age shown depends on your store's country.
Each adult signs for themselves. The lead booker can sign for the children on the booking, on the same phone, but shouldn't sign for another adult: they share the link instead.
Signing
- Under Sign here, the rider signs with their finger or mouse. Clear starts again.
- They tap Sign waiver.
- The page shows Waiver signed and "[name], you're all set for pickup. Thanks for signing."
Sharing with the group
While anyone still has to sign, the page offers Share Signing Link (or Copy Signing Link on a computer), with the reminder "Only share it with people in your group." Each person who opens it picks their own name and signs on their own phone, in any order.
To sign for a child on the same phone, the lead taps Sign for someone else on this phone.
Once everyone has signed, the page says Everyone in your group has signed.
After signing, the lead booker may be asked Save your details for next time?. It's optional: No thanks closes it, and nobody needs an account to sign.
Language
The emailed link opens in the booking's language, with your waiver in that language. A rider who opens a link the lead shared sees the page in their phone's language, if your store uses it, and otherwise in the booking's language.
When signing closes
Riders can sign from the moment the booking is made until 2 days after the rental ends. If the booking is cancelled, signing closes straight away.
After that the page says This booking is closed, or This waiver link has expired, and "If you think this is a mistake, contact" your store. They can still sign at your shop.
If something goes wrong
| The rider sees | What it means |
|---|---|
| That rider has already signed. | Someone signed that row while they were filling it in. They choose another name, or add themselves. |
| There's no space left on this booking for another rider. | Every place on the booking is taken. Check nobody signed in the wrong place, or they sign at the shop. |
| Those details match the person who made the booking. | They tried to add themselves but they're the lead booker. They choose their name from the list instead. |
| The shop has just updated its terms or waiver. | You saved a change while they had the page open. They read the new version and sign again. |
| This waiver link isn't working | The link is incomplete. They open the whole link from their email, or sign at the shop. |
| We couldn't save your signature. | A connection problem. Their signature is kept on screen; they try again. |
A rider without a phone can sign at your shop. See How can a customer sign a waiver if they don't have a phone?
