BRM Self-Registration is a powerful tool designed to enhance the efficiency of customer check-ins, especially in high-volume bike rental operations. By allowing customers to register while waiting in line, you can reduce bottlenecks and keep the flow of business moving smoothly.

Here’s why self-registration is a game-changer:

  • Prevents Bottlenecks at the Point of Sale
The last thing you want at the point of sale is for customers to fill out basic information like their name and address. With self-registration, customers complete their details while waiting, freeing you up to focus on bookings, payment, and necessary paperwork when they reach the front of the line.

  • Engages Customers While They Wait
Customers will appreciate the opportunity to do something productive while they wait. Instead of standing idly, they can complete their registration, making the process feel quicker and more efficient for everyone involved.

  • Gathers Valuable Information
Registering customers in advance allows you to collect important details that might not be captured if you’re rushed at checkout. You can gather individual registrations for each cyclist (rather than one per group), collect email addresses for future marketing efforts, and capture any additional useful data.

How to Set Up Self-Registration

You have two options for implementing self-registration in your store:

Dedicated Tablets in the Queue Area
Set up tablets in your store’s queueing area, allowing customers to complete their registration while they wait for assistance. Here’s an example of how it might look:

QR Code for Self-Registration
A more space-efficient solution is to display a QR code on your wall. Customers can simply scan the code using their smartphones to access the registration page. This eliminates the need for tablets, though you will need a reliable Wi-Fi network for this to work seamlessly. Here’s an example of how the QR code might appear:

The Registration Process

Once customers scan the QR code or use a tablet, they’ll see a user-friendly registration page (customizable for your store). After completing the necessary details, they will be ready for the next step in the rental process.

Testing Self-Registration

To test and set up your self-registration process, go to your Settings > Registered Devices page in BRM.

Here you’ll find a list of all the devices you’ve connected to your BRM system.

  • Select a device to view its details.
  • To open the registration page on a device (mobile or tablet), simply point the camera at the QR code. It will prompt you to open the page on your device.

This simple setup allows you to streamline your bike rental process, engage your customers effectively, and gather important information for your business.
