You refund an Apple Pay or Google Pay payment the same way as any card payment, straight from the reservation. There's no separate process for wallets.
How to refund
- Open the More menu on the Reservation Detail Panel.
- Select Stripe Refunds.
- Pick the payment. A wallet payment shows as a card payment, with the card brand and the last 4 digits.
- Enter the amount and confirm.
BRM adds the refund to the reservation's transactions for you, so there's nothing to record by hand.
Why wallets work like cards
Stripe processes Apple Pay and Google Pay payments as card payments. BRM asks Stripe to refund the original payment, and Stripe returns the money to the card behind the wallet.
If you refunded in the Stripe Dashboard
A refund made in the Stripe Dashboard still returns the money, but it doesn't update BRM. Record it on the reservation as a negative transaction, using the same payment method as the original payment (for example Visa), and put Stripe's refund reference in the notes.
