What this setting does
By default, the category switcher shows each category's name only. Turning this on adds a small image next to the name in each chip, using the same image already set on the category — there's nothing extra to upload.
Where to find it
- Go to Settings → Service Offering Management.
- Open the offering, then click Edit offering.
- Under Visual Appearance → Category Chip Appearance, choose:
- Category Name and Image — show each category's image alongside its name.
- Category Name — show the category name only. (This is the default.)
- Save the offering.
If a category has no image
Switching to Category Name and Image only adds an image to chips for categories that already have one set. A category with no image keeps showing its name only in the switcher — it doesn't fall back to a placeholder icon the way the main category grid does. If you turn this setting on, it's worth checking every category has an image set first, so the switcher looks consistent rather than a mix of image chips and name-only chips.
If you don't see this section
Visual Appearance is a newer setting and doesn't appear on every offering's Edit page yet. It also doesn't appear for TAE offerings, which don't use the category chip switcher at all.
Good to know
- This is a per-offering setting — different offerings on the same store can be set differently.
- It only affects the in-page switcher. The main category grid customers see first always shows images, whatever this is set to.
