What language does my booking page show, and can I change it?

Your Customer Booking Page is translated into 18 languages. By default it tries to match the customer's own browser language, and customers can change it themselves at any time.

How the language is chosen

The booking page looks at the customer's browser settings and uses that language if it's one of the 18 supported. If it can't match, the page falls back to English — not to your store's primary language. It's worth knowing if most of your customers are local and your store language isn't English.

Customers can always switch

There's a language picker in the header of the booking page, visible on every page. Customers can change language whenever they like, and you can't hide it.

So anything you set is the starting language, not a restriction.

Starting in a specific language

If you want a link or an embedded booking page to open in a particular language — for example the German page of your website opening the booking page in German — use the Language Override option in your booking page settings.

Choosing a language there doesn't change anything on its own. It generates a link (and embed code) with the language included. You then have to copy that link or code and paste it into your website, replacing what's there now. If you skip that step, nothing changes for your customers.

You can generate a different link per language and use each on the matching page of your site.

Things to watch

  • Language codes are two letters — de, fr, es. There are no regional variants, so there's one English, one Portuguese and one Chinese.
  • The Language Selection Placement setting on the Advanced page belongs to the legacy booking wizard and does not control the picker on your Customer Booking Page.
  • Your own wording — offering names, product names, custom text — is shown as you typed it. Only the booking page's own labels are translated.
