We've rebuilt the BRM home page and the setup journey that goes with it. The new home page opens on the numbers you actually need — revenue today, new bookings, overdue returns — with what's going out and coming back, a rail showing every feature you have turned on and what else you could switch on, and a strip of the latest BRM updates.
Alongside it, Getting Started has become a clearer setup journey: the work needed to go live is separated from the optional extras, so your progress reflects the jobs that actually matter.
The upgraded home dashboard and onboarding experience is being rolled out store by store. If you'd like access, contact support and we'll switch it on for you.
The page keeps track of where you are. Steps tick themselves off as you complete them, so you can leave and come back. Once every required step is done your store is ready to trade, and the page keeps showing the list so you can revisit anything later — it doesn't disappear once you're live.
Required to go live
Six things. Your progress is measured against these alone, so when this section reads Complete you have everything you need to take bookings.
- Add your Items — get your stock into BRM so customers have something to book. Start with Quick Add, which builds a category and its items in one go, or see Add / Manage Items.
- Set your pricing — decide what you charge, by hour, by day, or on your own rules. See Pricing Your Items.
- Add your store details — the name, location and contact information your customers see. See Store Details: address, currency, tax rate.
- Add your terms & conditions — the rental terms customers agree to when they book. See Setting your terms & conditions.
- Set your operating hours — tell BRM when you trade, so bookings only land in slots you can service. See Set opening hours.
- Set your booking notifications — add the address BRM bccs so you hear about every booking. This one is easy to skip and expensive to miss: if it is blank, a live store never gets told a booking has come in. See Notifications — Who panel.
Optional
Recommended, but not needed to trade. These don't count towards your progress.
- Connect a payment provider — take deposits and balances online, on top of taking payment in person. See Setting up Stripe.
- Take a test online booking — walk your booking page exactly as a customer would, before a real customer does.
- Take a test in-store booking — run a reservation end to end in the planner. See Planner 2.0 overview.
- List on Bike.Rent — put your shop in front of riders browsing the Bike.Rent platform.
- Publish on your own site — customise your booking page and embed it on your website. See Publishing your Customer Booking Page on your website.
Going live
Going live is tracked separately from the setup work, so finishing the required steps doesn't quietly flip your store open — and an established store never reads as half-finished just because an optional step is untouched.
